but yesterday was the day the Supreme Judicial Court said that it meant what it said in November, and same-sex marriages will be legal here in May. I didn't have a chance to write about this last night, but on my way home from work yesterday I was listening to talk radio, with a conservative host, and a caller called in and expressed his opinion that, with a failure rate upwards of 50% and countless married people cheating on their spouses, marriage has no sanctity. I thought he was making a good point, but of course the host, who is adamantly against the ruling, started ranting about the ultimate outcome of a marriage having no bearing on its sanctity as an instution, about centuries of tradition, morality, nature, common sense...

I couldn't take it anymore, so I changed stations to try and find some decent music to listen to, and there wasn't any. So I reached for a CD and was surprised to find that I didn't have a single one with me. I always have at least a few on hand, or so I thought. It was a boring ride home.

So, this morning I grabbed a few of my latest acquisitions before heading out the door, including Leona Naess and Howie Day. It should also be noted that, because of some online writing about her by a couple of people whose opinions I value, I now have an Ani diFranco CD in my possession.

Now I'm thinking this update is rather pointless, but I don't care.
