which I get maybe every 15-18 months, are events that I dread but always turn out to be no big deal. Must be the thought of the rectal exam?

When I went to see the doctor for my foot, he gave me the order for the lab work so he can get the results ahead of the date of the physical, which is this coming Wednesday. So today I got up early and headed out to the hospital to get it done.

This doesn't matter, but the nurse I had was gorgeous and we coincidentally have the same birthday, which I realized is exactly a month away when she told me that.

Now, I'm not squeamish in the least, but I started to get a little nervous when I saw the nurse's hands shaking like crazy as she was trying to put the needle in to draw blood. I was thinking that this could get messy, but I didn't say anything, and she did get the vein on the first stab, and drew two vials with no problem. Then she handed me a cup to pee into, after which I was on my merry way.

So, in just a few days the doctor will tell me what my cholesterol level is, and he'll repeat for the umpteenth time that he wants my weight down to 200 (it's 220 now, and has been for years). If I'm lucky, that's about all he'll have to say.
