Getting a little breezy...

The worst of the windiness is supposed to be from 11:00 this morning until 8:00 tonight, then it's going very gradually taper off. So if the power stays on for about nine more hours we should be okay.

It looks pretty severe already, and it's not even 11:30 yet. Those are going to be nine long hours, I'm thinking.

I hope everyone else is holding up okay.

EDIT: A couple of times, the lights went out for just a few seconds, and there was a lot of flickering. At 6:30 the power went off and stayed off for about an hour. Now it's not so windy, but I know we're not done with the storm yet.

You may not have been my LJ friend during Hurricane Irene, when we weathered the storm with no power outage, congratulated ourselves on a beautiful clear sunny morning the next day, only to have a tree drop on a power line somewhere in the neighborhood . . . resulting in a five day power outage. I'm *expecting* the power to be out for days on end this time.

Nope I wasn't 'cause I'd have remembered that! I'm of course hoping very intensely that the all the trees around here that are going to fall, already did, now that the wind has died down. Your story is a good reason not to feel too secure until . . .we get the generator back.
