Siriusly...
Jul. 11th, 2007 11:59 pmI try not to go more than a week without updating, and then suddenly I noticed it's been 10 days. Not much to write about, I guess.
After all of maybe five minutes of research, I think I know why we have Sirius Satellite Radio in Jackie's van. I always thought you paid a monthly or annual subscription fee to keep a receiver activated, but according to that wellspring of knowledge, Wikipedia, the subscription fees are for your own membership and there are separate activation fees for each receiver. It seems it's a one-time activation fee, so this could mean that as long as the van's previous owner keeps his or her subscription, we'll have an active receiver. Or maybe not, but it would explain why it still works.
Too bad it's not a little more portable.
I've come to the conclusion that it probably wouldn't be worth paying for. There are 130+ channels, only maybe 10 or so that I'd ever actually listen to. And you can only listen to one at a time. And not one but two of them are Howard Stern.
