Considering how long it would take to decapitate someone using a knife, why didn't someone JUMP him? Or more than one someone? "Let's roll" or whatever.

Excellent question! I'm trying to figure out what "extraordinary level-headedness and bravery" the driver and passengers were praised for by the police sergeant.
