Weighing In
Aug. 27th, 2012 10:42 pmThe American Academy of Pediatrics says the benefits of infant male circumcision outweigh the risks. While I'm of course no medical professional, it still seems to me that the reasons they give can be offset in a major way by teaching about personal hygiene and safe sex.
They even say the benefits are not great enough to recommend it be done routinely. See?
As one who was thankfully spared the knife, my recommendation to parents of newborns is Don't Do It. Let the person whose penis it is decide. It's always an option if it ever becomes medically necessary.
That's my thought for the day!
