Election 2012, part 1 of many
Apr. 22nd, 2011 02:16 pmA little while ago I mentioned that political thoughts were brewing in my head, and it was around the time Mitt Romney announced his candidacy for president.
I totally don't want Mitt Romney to be president. I think he's a fucking hypocrite who would say anything for votes, not that this makes him much different from many other politicians, but for some reason I feel as if I want to throw up every time I hear him say anything.
So the way to work against him in the primary, I guess, would be to always substitute 'Obamacare' with 'Romneycare' and show the pic of him, with a beaming Ted Kennedy looking over his shoulder, signing the Massachusetts health care bill into law. You know, the bill that the federal law is based on. It may also help to point out, early and often, that Massachusetts became the first state to allow same-sex marriage while he was governor.
The problem I have with this, however, is if he doesn't get the Republican nomination, who will? Somebody I'd want in the White House even less, I highly suspect. I'd want them to nominate someone who is unelectable, but then I'd live in fear that the Democratic candidate will do or say something really boneheaded and we'd end up with President Huckabee or President Gingrich or, in the absolute worst case, President Palin. Okay, that last one probably won't have a chance of happening but a close next-to-worst would be President Bachmann. Thoughts like these will give me nightmares.
