Boil Water Order Day 8
Aug. 16th, 2009 11:31 pmSaturday's paper was falsely encouraging, with the statement that the order could be lifted by the end of the day. Test samples of water, which they do twenty of at a time, have to come back clean twice in a row, and the twenty they took Thursday morning all were clean. The time before that, only one of twenty had bacteria. The next results were due back Saturday afternoon. We were hopeful.
The results were that two of twenty were contaminated. So, back to the high school for more bottles. Now they're giving away cases of .5 liter bottles instead of gallons.
We decided that even after they say everything's ok, which I'm confident they will some day, we're going to wait at least another day or two before going back to normal. If they can get all clean results one time and not the next, doesn't it make sense to assume they can get clean results two times and not the third?
And in the Much Worse News department, I have to go back to work tomorrow.
Good night!
