About the crash...

As a pilot, I like to think I'd do anything and everything possible so as not to endanger people on the ground if something goes wrong.

The idea of bailing out of an aircraft, leaving it to crash into a residential area, doesn't sit well with me at all. But I've never been in any situation even remotely similar to that one, so I can't say what I would have done, or if anything could have been done differently.
