Friday's Update on Sunday
Dec. 4th, 2006 12:01 amI took Friday afternoon off for my follow-up appointment with the opthalmologist after this. He confirmed what the optometrist said, that it's vitreous detachment, and there's a 95% chance it'll also happen in my right eye, and soon. If it does I'll have to go back right away because it could tear a little hole in the back of the eyeball as it's pulling away and they'll need to close it with a laser. He said even if I'm away on vacation somewhere to find an eye doctor and they'll just do it right in the office and send me on my way. Simple as that. He said don't wait 'til I'm back here to get it taken care of because if it involves any retinal detachment and I let it go even a couple of days, the treatment is a lot more complicated, including injecting some kind of gas into the eyeball! I'm pretty sure I don't want that, but it is good to know that something so serious can usually be fixed.
Before going to the eye doctor, we had lunch at Panera Bread. I love the cheddar broccoli soup. And bread bowls, which I only just discovered then.
Friday was also World AIDS Day. We didn't get all "F"s on our report card.
