A couple of post-election thoughts
Nov. 10th, 2006 11:34 amThis cartoon by Mikhaela almost could have been made by me. Except I can't draw. And I don't look like her. But it does reflect my thoughts and concerns exactly.
In more localized news, our state's constitutional convention resumed yesterday, and the legislature voted to recess until January 2 (the last day of this legislative session) before a vote on the amendment to ban same-sex marriages was taken. They probably won't vote on it then, either, which will kill it dead. I'm not sorry it's happening this way, but I do think in a way it would be better to have it on the ballot in 2008 so the voters can kill it themselves. Assuming they would, that is. If Arizona voters can do it, surely the voters here will, right? I like to think so, anyway.
