Is this a weird dream or what?
Sep. 10th, 2006 12:33 amWe went to a funeral home for a wake, and there was a wake other than the one we were there for in a room to the right as we walked in. It looked pretty typical at first, with people lined up to the casket and family members. As soon as I looked away, Jackie said something about a baby and I looked again and there was a baby lying on a small bed near the middle of the room. I was thinking how sad it was that a baby died when I noticed the baby was breathing and started to move, so I thought, nope, not the baby. Then I noticed another bed in the room just beyond the baby's, and on it was a very old woman. Old like 100. So I thought that must be who really died and at least she got to live a whole life, but then she too started to move. When she got up and started to walk around she didn't look so old anymore. Maybe 40-something, and even though she was moving around and even said something (I wish I could remember what) I somehow knew that this was in fact her wake.
A woman who knew her was suddenly nearby, so I asked "Are you sure she's dead?" and with a slight eye roll and a quick nod of her head she said "Oh, belieeeve me!" So I was like, "okaaaay...."
I thought, wow! If she's like this now she must have been really something when she was alive.
Then I was thinking, if they drained out all her blood and filled her with embalming fluid, she probably won't be able to keep doing this for much longer...

Meanwhile, back in real life, Jackie was calling to me to wake up because it was time and there was stuff to do, so I didn't get to finish the dream, dammit. I don't even know whose wake we were going to.
