America's future, in action
Aug. 12th, 2005 11:40 pmIn the restaurant we went to tonight were a woman and three young children, and across from them were a man and a woman that I assumed were boyfriend and girlfriend. We were at the far other end of the dining room, which was a good thing.
The server, whose name is Judy, asked the woman with the children what they wanted to drink, and the woman ordered two lemonades for the two older children and milk for the youngest one. As Judy was walking away, the little one started screaming "I don't WANT milk, I want LEMONADE" and she picked up a fork and just threw it full force, hitting the girlfriend across the aisle on the head. She wasn't hurt, but I think she's really lucky not to have been hit in the eye or something. The boyfriend picked up the fork and returned it to the mother, who politely thanked him but offered not even the slightest apology, and she didn't say anything to the kid about it. Not one word! Most parents wouldn't let their kids get away with that, would they? That kid's going to be a real menace when she gets older.
Judy took the silverware from all three of the kids at that table, saying they weren't allowed to have it anymore. She never returned it, not even after the food arrived. The mother didn't say anything about that either. She probably knew she was a heartbeat away from being asked to leave.
