Aug. 6th, 2005 11:04 pmFor weeks it seemed, on several occasions people at work would talk about how loud the thunder was the night before and how much rain they got, and all the while I was feeling left out because we never got a single storm or drop of rain. Until yesterday, that is.
A storm came through while we were eating. The lightning was spectacular, the thunder was very loud, and it poured like crazy.
All I really wanted was a little rain for the lawn, but whoa! There were 60-mph wind gusts, maybe more, and trees were knocked down all over the place onto power lines and houses and across roads. The only thing that happened to us is we lost power for a couple of hours. We were lucky, and fortunately there was no mention on the news or in the paper of anybody getting hurt.
So if i ever complain again about not getting hit with a thunderstorm, please just tell me to shut the fuck up!
