A sad story
May. 10th, 2005 11:44 pmThis happened last Sunday, I think.
A coworker's neighbor has a son who's 17 or 18 and is said to have been on the receiving end of much taunting and harrassment at school. Nobody knows for sure if that's why he was building a pipe bomb at another kid's house, but he was. It went off and he lost most of one arm, his right eye, and most of the right side of his face. Many metal fragments were removed from his brain and he hasn't regained consciousness, and it's not known if he ever will.
It's a shame that his parents were so out of touch with what's been going on in his life, and I think they are partly to blame, but if the harrassment is what prompted him to build it, the real blame belongs with the parents of his tormentors.
