Jan. 9th, 2005 11:59 pmWe had a power outage for a while last night, starting around midnight. It had to be from the ice storm. More snow is coming this week, I hear, but what the hell. This is New England and it's January. The lights went out while I was watching a football playoff game, the outcome of which didn't matter, though I wanted the San Diego Chargers to win. I had to wait 'til morning to find out they didn't.
When you think about it, relative to some events, no football game really matters.
iamkatia has a link to this in her journal. All I could say was "Wow."
It was only about three or four days after the tsunami that I started getting spam emails soliciting donations. That pisses me off, but it comes as no surprise. No catastrophe is too large or too small to be exploited by scumbags who'll do anything for a buck.
