Inside the Brain of a Republican
Sep. 3rd, 2004 11:58 pmThere was a great Daryl Cagle cartoon in Monday's Boston Globe with that title. It was an elephant in a pinstripe suit smoking a cigar, saying "Go &*#@ yourself" with caption boxes all around.
Inside the boxes were:
He believes the very foundation of his own marriage is threatened by gay marriage in Massachusetts.
He believes that cutting taxes increases government revenues.
He thinks we should enforce U.N. sanctions and get out of the U.N.
He wants to deregulate corporations and regulate women's reproductive systems.
He wants to kick illegal immigrants out (except for the ones that clean his house and mow his lawn).
He wants a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage so the states can decide for themselves.
He believes in smaller government except when a Republican president expands government.
He believes that trade with Vietnam and China is good but trade with Cuba is bad.
He wants drug addicts thrown in jail unless they are talk radio hosts.
He wants stem cell research stopped, thinks global warming is bad science and wants creationism taught in schools.
He believes in state rights except when California wants medical marijuana and Oregon wants physician assisted suicide or anyone wants something he doesn't like.
He thinks a president should be impeached for lying about sex but not for lying about Iraq.
******************
Anyway, I thought it was pretty good even though it leaves out plenty of other things that bother me about the GOP.
I couldn't find a link to it anywhere.
