The alarm clock

didn't wake me up this morning.

The sound of a cat barfing did instead, so I got up almost half an hour earlier than usual and cleaned it up off of the bedroom carpet. We have lots of hardwood floor space in the house. This doesn't happen all that often, but when it does, why is it always on the carpet?

Then I went about my usual getting-ready-for-work routine and arrived at work at the usual time, wondering where the hell did all that extra time go.
