The Red Sox

swept the Angels and now they have a few days off, which is probably a good thing. I'm told by my fellow Sox fans that we're supposed to be rooting for the Yankees to beat the Twins, so the Sox can 'do it right' by beating them to win the pennant. This, of course, causes me to foresee nothing but an almost exact repeat of what happened last year. When the Yankees absolutely positively have to win, they almost always do.

Of the four major sports (baseball, basketball, football and hockey), the Red Sox are the only local team that hasn't won a championship in my lifetime. I wonder if this will always be true. Probably.
